For those of you familiar with National Treasure, you will know that the three major cities featured in the movie are Washington DC (The Archives), Philadelphia (Independence Hall etc), and New York City (Intrepid and Trinity Church). Unfortunately the Intrepid (Aircraft Carrier Museum) which is normally moored in Manhattan is being refurbished (on Staten Island, near the ferry terminal), so we only had Trinity Church to visit. As you all know, Trinity Church is located at Wall and Broadway.
The stained glass inside was spectacular and photography just cannot do justice to it. The kids also lit candles and prayed for their friends.
Outside of the church is a sculpture of tree roots based on a tree that was located at St Paul’s Church, which is across the road from the World Trade Center. It was knocked over by debris from the building collapse and narrowly missed St Paul’s.
