Finally she came into view. It is quite an awe-inspiring site.
Since 9/11, you can no longer go up the statue and there are only very limited tickets to get up the pedestal where you can see some people just below the statue. But we were able to have a picnic on the lawn under the statue and take in the spectacular view of Manhattan.
