Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey were in town with their show and we had almost front row seats.
Before the performance, the three rings were opened for us to come down and have a look and even particpate in some of the events.
Gemma would make a great ringmaster.
The clowns put on a great pre-show.
They then set up a tight rope, and practised the routines we later saw them do a lot higher up.
And Gemma got to have a go at tight rope walking (wiht a little help).
These balancing artists set up hop just behind us. Very impressive balancing act.
And now for the main event.
The gymnasts put an impressive show, getting higher and higher.
This circus had everything I expected, including a tiger tamer (doesn't have quite the same ring as a lion tamer, does it). But they were (dare I say it) impressive.
The theme of the night was Bello, the crown with the piked up hair. Here you can see everyone (including the elephants) with Bello hair.
During interval we bought cotton candy and pop corn. The cotton candy came in polka dot hats and the cotton candy in a Bello wig.
After interval, the entertainment reached new heights with the trapeze artists doing their stuff.
As we built towards the finale, the acts got bigger - literally. The elephants put on a great show.
The finale was a husband and wife team being shot out of the canon.
A tired but happy crowd riding the metro home!
