The Lower Lot

There are 4 main attractions on the Lower Lot of Universal Studios

Jurrasic Park is a water flume ride, where one gets to ride through Jurrasic Park, experience various types of dinosaurs, an 85 foot drop, and get very wet (which was OK as the day was already warm). Sam and I rode it first thing when we got down the bottom of the lower lot.

Backdraft is a demostration of the special effects that were used in the movie of the same name. It culminates with a full demonstration of the final scene of the movie where everything explodes. It's a very impressive demonstartion and the warmth helped Sam and I dry off after Jurrasic park.

Special Effects demonstrated exactly that, visual, make up and sound effects, which were a lot of fun to watch.

The Mummy is a roller coaster type ride through an Egyptian temple, most of it in the dark with the occasional scary effect. The best bit was when it slammed to a stop and headed backwards along the same track. It is also a slingshot as opposed to gravity feed coaster. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but had to ride it alone.
