Today it was finally time to head home from LA.
The freeways are still staggering to me here.
Once in the terminal at LAX, we had to repack our luggage as our one checked bag was about 5lbs overweight. Fortunately, we were using lots of carry-on bags, and so there was no problem in getting it under 50 lbs.
We then had a 80 minute wait as our drive to LAX had been very quick. Fortunately, Alaskan Airlines has a partnership with QANTAS, and my Platinum membership got all of us into the Alaskan Airlines club, head and shoulders above waiting with the crowds downstairs.
We arrived on time back in DC, but had to wait almost an hour before our bag appeared on the carousel. We had been warned that Reagan could be slow with luggage, but that was ridiculous, We never got too worried as the rest of the plane was also waiting for that amount of time.
DC welcomed us back with heat and humidity, even at 9pm, but it was good to be back in our own beds again!
