For the past FOUR weeks, Alyssa has been getting up before 7am EVERY morning for a drive to Vienna (Virginia, not Austria), to attend the Vienna Strings Summer Camp. She's had a great time and her playing has improved immensely. She's also made some great friends with very similar interests (after all, they all play viola).
Apparently there was a daily blackboard competition to see who could write the most on the board about their group.
Every day the pickup routine was the same, a kiss and ride in reverse. By the end of 4 weeks, we were almost getting it right!
And tonight they had a concert to finish off the camp. Here she is with viola in case, ready and armed.
One of the earlier groups warmed the audience up.
Then it was time for the main act.

One of the problems with playing the viola is that they stick you at the back a lot!
