The Lion King

We sprung a suprise on the kids tonight and took them along to the Kennedy Center on the banks of the Potomac River to see the Lion King. The production was spectacular, very colourful in particular.

The Kennedy Center itself is an impressive building and it turns out they do free tours so we'll be back during the day to the rest of the place.

Here's the family out the front.

And the view from the back.

The kids liked this striking bust of JFK.

This fountain at the back was also impressive, but the sun was directly in the kid's eyes.

There are quotes from JFK all over the building. Here's one that caught my eye.

Inside one entrance hall is the flags of all the states. In the other, is the flag of all the countries of the world. We found the Aussie flag hiding away here.
