The park police were on hand to keep an eye on things.
Gemma found a friend to ride with.
Sam also found a couple of friends from school.

With petrol prices at $4 a gallon, more people have stayed home this year, so the parade was the biggest yet. People everywhere!
At the end of the parade was the party, with rides etc. This fire engine is a slide which caught the kids' attention. They were quite happy to line up for it, and kept themselves amused while waiting.
This spinner was also a hot item and Gemma was brave enough to give it a go.
It was then time for the more sedate bouncy castle.
Alyssa was more interested in the other things going on (where did those orange spots come from?)
Most of our local community was there today and we had a great time mixing with them.
We stayed for hours and had the standard fare of hot dogs etc. Liz even won a cake on the cake walk!
Later in the day, I played my first tennis game since arriving on these shores with a friend. We were both pretty sore afterwards and enjoyed a refreshing dip in the pool.
