Spelling!

We woke up yesterday to the news of the near disaster of the QANTAS plane flying from Hong Kong to Melbourne. The story was covered again this morning and here you can see how BBC America covered it.

Now the U.S. has dropped the "u" out of many words (favorite being my favourite - Sam lost a mark on a spelling test), so this additional U in QANTAS is making up for it I guess.

For our Ameican friends, QANTAS stands for Queensland And Northern Territory Aerial Service. It is the oldest Airline, having started in 1921, and to date has not had a crash or fatality.

And now (July 28th), the Washington Post has got into the act!
