Following the program, I had a couple of hours to see some of the museum.
I started on the roof. The Newseum is located next to the Canadian Embassy and has similarly spectacular views of the Capitol and other landmarks this end of the Mall.
The Newseum is 5 floors of displays with a central atrium. That's a 3 storey high screen displaying news stories.
They have the capability of pulling up the front page of papers from around the world. No Australian, or Advertiser, but they did have the Age, Herald, Financial Review and Townsville Times.
This is part of the transmitter tower from the World Trade Center. It's the centerpiece of a large and moving exhibit dedicated to 9/11.
In the middle of the atrium is a news helicopter which seems to have lost its way.
