Fireworks

This evening we had a street party including a BBQ. As seems to be the tradition, we had a torrential downpour just as we had everything set up (similar thing happened on Memorial Day last year). Sam stayed out in it and got pretty wet.

The kids all had hot dogs off the BBQ.

It was then time for a professional to take over and cook some REAL meat. These ribs, with the special BBQ sauce were fantastic.

As it got darker, we broke out the sparklers. Alyssa got creative with hers.

And Sam found the time to write his full name.

It was then time for the main event. As with last year, we coned off the road, lined up the fireworks and let them go, following the instructions "Do not hold in hand. Light fuse and get away"

The crowd was looking forward to a good show tonight.
