Skyline Drive

The kids and I went on a drive along Skyline Drive, which is part of the Shenandoah National Park. It follows the Blue Ridge mountains, and provides some spectacular views of the Shenandoah River Valley, and into West Virginia. This time of year, the atmosphere is rather hazy, but we could still see a fair distance.

It was a relatively quiet day and much of the time, we had the road and the views to ourselves. We saw a bi of wildlife, including a small black bear which we were too busy watching to snap a photo and this doe and her two fawns that crossed the road in front of us, then stopped to have a look.
