It is traditional to start the day with a Dawn service all over the world. Services were heled throughout Australia, Gallipoli in Turkey where the battle took place, and of course here in Washington DC. The site for this morning's service was the Korean War Memorial, near the Lincoln Memorial. As always, the Washington Monument was also hovering nearby.
As you can see, there was quite a gathering of dignateries from a number of countries, each who placed a wreath in rememberance. And there was quite a crowd.
Wreaths were laid by Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA, France, Turkey.
After the service, I ran into some familiar faces from both Australia and Canada.
As we returned to the car after the service, the sun started rising.
