We finally finished at the Franklin Institute mid-afternoon, and continued up the Ben Franklin Parkway to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It is number 3 in the country behind the Met in New York and the Smithsonian in DC. The building itself is an impressive piece of architecture (as is much of Philadelphia). The stretch limo delivered an entire wedding party for photos in the outside quadrangle of the museum.
The inside of the museum is even more impressive. One room alone contained works by van Gogh, Monet, Manet, Picasso, ... And we only visited a portion of the gallery mostly European Art. Even for someone as ignorant as myself about art, I still recognised some major works. Below are a few of our favourites.
