Cacti

I've been to Arizona a few times in the past, but never in May. This appears to be the time of year that the cacti flower. Here's some flowering cacti that I saw during my short time in Arizona this trip. The Saguaro, which are impressive all on their own, look even more impressive with flowers.

I was again hit with how many cacti remain in Arizona and how impressive they look. A number of the highways I drove on during this trip passed through what can only be described as "forests" of Saguaro cacti.

The desert is typically pictured as dry and hot. However, this time of year, it is very green (relatively, not Virginia green), and I drove near several storms.
