The view from Arlington House at Arlington Cemetery is also pretty spectacular. Here you can see straight across the Potomac to the Lincoln Memorial, the up the mall to the Washington Monument and the Capitol. You can see Washington DC's skyline (or lack of it). Building regulations prevent the construction of high rise buildings within DC which give it a brighter and more open feel than other cities with no such restrictions.
