After a morning of doing admin type stuff (and Liz buying a new handbag), it was time to take a break and see and do something. We took our new car, went to look at another potential house, and then drove across the frozen Potomac River (well on a bridge over it), past all the peak hour traffic leaving DC, and on to the Mall. Past the Lincoln Memorial, and the Washington Monument, the Smithsonians, and up to the Capitol. We then got out of the car (except for Liz). It was cold (20F) and the ground was covered in an inch or so of ice. We ran around, chased squirrels, played ice hockey with bits of ice and enjoyed the scenery. After half an hour (and turning blue all over), we retreated to the car, back to our apartment and then down to the underground shopping mall and McDonalds for tea. Does it get any better than this?
