On the way to Monticello this morning, Liz spotted a bald eagle sitting on a tree at the edge of the Potomac, only a mile from where we live. The first shot was taken with my regular lens, and then I remembered the telephoto lens, which gives us a much better look. Did you know that Benjamin Franklin was against having the Bald Eagle as the national bird, as it is a scavenger. He wanted the turkey instead!
